Ready, Set.... RACE!!!!7/12/2014 Recently my mother, Edith, introduced me to the world of Second Life drag racing. Now I am already a huge fan of Real Life drag racing. Antrone Brown is the man! To find it in Second Life just blew me away. I never knew it was there. I plan on getting a top fuel dragster and becoming a champ. So today was the first top fuel race and you know I had to be there. So without further ado here is my experience at the Second Life drag races…. Every Sunday through Friday at 7pm SLT you can hear the roar of engines and smell the burning rubber from burnouts at the NRRA races. NRRA was started in 2009 by Nina Roar, who happens to be an Ashley Force fan. Nina designs and builds the cars herself. The cars are really amazing. She not only makes the Top Fuel cars but also drag bikes and street car dragsters. I am planning on racing a Top Fuel, drag bike, and a Corvette. I am pretty excited about that. Anyway, back to the race tonight. They started the race with about 10 cars. They go 2 at a time. They do a best of 5 thing. The winner then advances. They do this till they have an overall winner. Tonight’s winner was Reniece Kinsella Quan (Reniece Shippe). She got into racing when she met Tresbon Toocool. She is not a fan of drag racing in Real Life but really enjoys it in Second Life. If you have never been to a drag race then you are missing a very amazing experience. The smell of burning rubber and the rev of the engines is a thrill in itself. I love to see who can give the best burnout. For those of you that do not know what a burnout is, it is when you spin your tires in place and make them smoke. It is quite a thrill. Then there is the rev of that loud amazing sounding engine. The harder it revs the more you can feel it. When the cars finally take off you can feel the ground shake. I always get little tingles through my body. It is just a feeling you have to have for yourself. Going to the racing is a great way to spend your evening. After the race you can go down and meet the drivers in the winner’s circle. So far everyone that I have met at NRRA is really amazing and friendly. Nina evens gets out there and races. I invite everyone to come down and watch the races with me or build a team and join the fun. Happy Racing TinaLynn R. Ashbourne http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Caymen%20Shores/213/155/3030
