The Lovecraft Festival is a week long celebration beginning August 17th running through August 25th celebrating the 128th birthday of HP Lovecraft.  HP Lovecraft is the famous horror write that wrote the books The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories, At the Mountains of Madness, and other works.  He was born was on August 20, 1890 and wrote in the very early 1900s.  One of his biggest influences is one of my favorite authors Edgar Allen Poe.  Every year the residents of SL come together with shops and live music, dance performances, readings, and workshops to celebrate this wonderful week long event.  The sim for the event has been set up to resemble the early 1900s so please feel free to dress according to the time period and come join in the world activities.
